Our high-tech thermowood factory is economical and efficient

Standwood thermowood performs well in any weather and requires only minimal maintenance because it is the first in Estonia to be treated in an innovative vacuum-based thermal treatment chamber. Thanks to this cutting-edge technology, our product achieves a top-level standard, turning quality wood into something even better.

Moisture, resin, and mold have been removed from thermally treated wood without using chemicals. After processing in a thermal treatment chamber, the wood becomes more:

• stable, durable, wear-resistant, and deforms minimally, making it virtually maintenance-free
• with reduced weight and thus easier to handle
• With reduced moisture content and decreased thermal conductivity, it is well-suited for hot and humid environments
• With a beautiful natural color and accentuated texture, making it an attractive decorative element
• Odorless and resistant to dirt, making it especially suitable as a construction and interior material, such as for saunas and other essential living spaces

Standwood products are made using vacuum technology, making them odorless and free from chemicals. The raw materials used come from local, sustainably managed forests.

For thermal treatment, we use the high-tech patented solution from the company WDE Maspell, which we brought from Italy to Estonia.

Standwood’s latest product, Respect, utilizes the parts of the wood that were previously discarded as waste (unfortunately still the case in most companies).

We have developed a method to utilize 99.9% of the raw material, meaning we need to cut down fewer forests and make the most of the smaller amount of harvested wood to create a product that is even more durable, weather-resistant, easy to install, and long-lasting.

All of this is aimed at preserving our forests, reducing our CO2 footprint, and considering future generations.

Our production facility near Tallinn employs an efficient manufacturing process that ensures the treated wood achieves its best properties for years to come through its various stages.

The enclosed environment in specialized chambers ensures a well-controlled, stable and high-quality treatment process, which is safer and more water- and energy-efficient than conventional equipment.

Each subsequent step includes not only production activities but also quality control to ensure consistent and uniform quality in the product.
