Description

Fraxinus or more commonly used ash is very valuable, durable and strong wood with beautiful tree rings. It is said that ash is the oak’s younger brother, although the ash wood is even harder than oak. Natural ash has a slightly reddish tint and pleasant, but peculiar smell. Historically, the ash has been used for objects requiring durable wood such as carriages, and agricultural machines. Thanks to its beautiful texture, ash is nowadays used not only in the exterior, but also as furniture wood and in exclusive interior decoration.

During thermal modification ash achieves valuable properties for outdoor use, such as weather and rot resistance, better moisture and dimensional stability. Wood becomes more stable and resistant to the effects of the external environment, it removes resin and gives the material a exotic and beautifully deep brown color.
